Milestones for the Department of Personnel, in 2011
Dec 20	On December 20, 2011, the Department of Land and the Department of Compulsory Military Service changed their Chinese titles, due to the amendment of “Organization Regulations of Local Administration Agency”; the Indigenous Peoples Commission changed its Chinese titles also, pursuant to the “The Indigenous Peoples Basic Law.”(Note: these agencies’ English titles still remain the same.) In order to announce the changes taking place in the Department of Land, the Department of Compulsory Military Service and the Indigenous Peoples Commission, the Department of Personnel organized the swear-in ceremony and opening ceremony at the Liu Ming –chuan Hall located on the twelfth floor of City Hall on the same day.
Dec 2	The Department of Personnel’s achievements in Public Personnel Administration in 2011 won the first prize in performance evaluation contest in the directly-controlled municipality category from Central Personnel Administration.
Nov 2	The Department of Personnel took second place at the 2011 Writing Competition in the Research and Development in Public Personnel Administration in the Group 1 from Central Personnel Administration.
Oct 11	Mayor Hau Lung-bin presented the awards to the forty winners of the 2011 Model Civil Servants Award during a ceremony at city hall.
Sep 15	The Department of Personnel（DOP） held the 2nd Conference of Personnel Executives 2011 at the Multimedia Room of Fire Safety Museum of Taipei city on September 15. Eighty personnel executives attended the conference, including the Division Chief or above within the DOP, the Manager of the City Welfare Commission, Chief Personnel Officers of DOP and its subordinate agencies at various levels, and Chief Personnel Officers of District Offices.
Aug 16	The Department of Personnel organized the swear-in ceremony for Ding Ting-yu as Taipei City’s third Deputy Mayor.The ceremony was held at the Liu Ming –chuan Hall located on the twelfth floor of City Hall.
Aug 9	The Department of Personnel organized the swear-in ceremony of new city officials at the Liu Ming –chuan Hall located on the twelfth floor of City Hall on August 9, 2011. The new cabinet members include Deputy Secretary-general Chang Pei-yi and Education Commissioner Ding Ya-wen.

The new cabinet members include Deputy Mayer Chen Hsiung-wen, Culture Affairs Department Commissioner Cheng Mei-hua, and Government Ethic Department Commissioner Liu Ming-wu.
May 30	The Department of Personnel participated in the “Third Human Resource Management Innovation and Achievement Contest for Executive Yuan-affiliated and Municipal Personnel Agencies” organized by the Central Personnel Administration with “Starting from the Heart: Limitless e-Innovations”. It received the award for outstanding achievements.
Mar 1	During the city administration conference, the mayor presented the certificates to 17 schools and institutions at the award ceremony for 2011 Taipei City Government Gender Equality Promotions Award. He also praised them for their outstanding performances.
Feb 8	In the morning, the mayor presided over the Chinese New Year greeting session at the Shen Pao-cheng Hall located on the first floor of city hall. He wishes all employees a “Happy Chinese New Year” and his message was broadcasted inside the building.
Jan 19	A 28-member delegation from the Examination Yuan visited Taipei City Government and took part in a discussion session at the Liu Ming-chuan Hall. Mayor Hau Lung-bin presided over the meeting with Examination Yuan Member Huang Fu-yuan. The agenda for the bilateral exchange included a Powerpoint presentation on HR affairs, discussion on proposals, and discussions on agendas.
